Kopalnia Wujek, bleeding heart of Silesia
To memory of Jan Stawisiński, Joachim Gnida, Józef Czekalski, Krzysztof Giza, Ryszard Gzik, Bogusław Kopczak, Andrzej Pełka, Zbigniew Wilk and Zenon Zając who were killed in Katowice’s coal mine “Kopalnia Wujek” 25 years ago on 16th December 1981.
Thanks again Marcin for this reminder. A dark chapter in history captured for coming generations by an unknown photographer. The third picture is very symbolic.
those are touching photos. i can't remember this, and only because of the phtoography i can be a witness of this facts. it's good that they keep emerging these days, nowadays - cause they weren't printed and well known then.... thanks for sharing! thanks for saving them!!!!!
