"I don´t know what I´m doing when I´m making photographs. What I do know is that it makes me feel alive to do so. I would never leave the house without my camera, it´s always there, like a friend trying to make me understand something. I don´t want to escape from life, I want to feel something and to reflect. These photographs kind of symbolize the contrasts in life, as I see them. But I still don´t understand anything..."
Susanne Otterberg was born in 1962 and is an autodidact photographer. She had her first exhibition after participating in a workshop with Anders Petersen in 1998. She has had exhibitions in Sweden and in Lithuania.

"I ask him if he would miss taking photographs if, for some reason, he had to stop. 'Probably not,' he says, shaking his head. 'I don't have a burning desire to go out and document anything. It just happens when it happens. It's not a conscious effort, nor is it a struggle. Wouldn't do it if it was. 'it's not my intention to shock, to offend, sensationalise, be political or whatever, only to make work that is as spiritually meaningful as I can make it - in all these photographs I never bothered with things like the negatives. some of them got marked and scratched. I just used the cheapest film and took them to be processed at the cheapest place. I was just trying to make order out of chaos.'
