I am intrigued by the uneasiness I feel while looking at this series: being lost in the shadows of the dimly lit church, the sacrificial or ceremonial connotation of the concentric circles of the chairs and the ground upon which they are sitting, the man who--even by just the back of his head--I can tell is many times more powerful that I am. All of these things make for a powerful and thought provoking triptych which, for me, moves the "thinking spot" from the area depicted in the photo to the area which the viewer occupies while regarding this work.
