Invited guest: Susanne Otterberg

"I don´t know what I´m doing when I´m making photographs. What I do know is that it makes me feel alive to do so. I would never leave the house without my camera, it´s always there, like a friend trying to make me understand something. I don´t want to escape from life, I want to feel something and to reflect. These photographs kind of symbolize the contrasts in life, as I see them. But I still don´t understand anything..."

Susanne Otterberg was born in 1962 and is an autodidact photographer. She had her first exhibition after participating in a workshop with Anders Petersen in 1998. She has had exhibitions in Sweden and in Lithuania.

Very nice use of lighting on all the subjects. The contrast works well with the piece's topic. The placement of the subjects within the frame creates a good balance of foreground and background. I enjoy the detailed focus on the man's scars.
