flowers from Umea.
the photo was taken in a studio by Tor Ekholtz in Umea, Sweden. some, long time ago.
Dear Swedish friends, can you tell me more about Bertil Ekholtz? he was a son of Tor? and any ideas about the habit of taking pictures of sailor (?) with flowers?

Hi Joanna!
Yes, Bertil Ekholtz was the son of Tor Ekholtz. There is some info at the Swedish Wikipedia (translated with Google: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsv.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FBertil_Ekholtz&sl=sv&tl=en)
Most likely the photograph is from a student exam.
All the best,
F.
thank you for link :) student exam? is it common to be "in flowers" to the picture after taking exams? graduate? thanks!
at least nowadays all your friends and family will put a flower or two in a band around your neck. with local variations I suppose. I guess it has to do with the difficult of carrying so many roses in your hands.
thank you, Doctor :)
Where I come from it is common to put A LOT of flowers and also other things (toys, etc) around the neck of students.
