Plant Propagation
An "Underground tree" should be treated in the same way as the plant species would naturally.
Hint: When you see a plant in underground - act normally as nothing happens!
Before initiating the process of growing the trees in your underground, tube or even trams, a new solution should be invented, to ensure that the "Plant propagation in communication" is innovative and ready to act in a public space, without the need of every passenger to carry his/her own tree.

Emigrating
TITLE: Farewell to home--emigrants bound for England and America--
on steamer at Göteborg, Sweden
CREATED/PUBLISHED: c1905.
CREATOR: Underwood & Underwood.
Mr Hepburns picture "Clock" made me think of how over a million people
emigrated from Sweden to America during the last half of the 19th century
and the first decades of the 20th century. Only between 1887-1892 over
250 000 people emigrated from Sweden. They landed in New York and many
moved on westwards.
Sweden had a population of just 4, 8 million in 1890 and most of the
people who left were young, so this was a major historic event.
Clock
The photo was taken in an abandoned house in County Mayo, Ireland. The clock is the one that once sat on the mantelpiece before the house was claimed by the sea. There are also many other houses in a state of abandonment that have been deserted by people emigrating to the UK, US and beyond.

Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville, USA
The organizers call it three days of peace, love and photography. Sounds
like a great event! It is said to be the first of its kind in North America and
will be held in Charlottesville, Virginia this summer of 2007 (June 7 - 9).
National Geographic Staff Photographer Michael “Nick” Nichols is
co-executive director of the Festival, along with Jessica Nagle of
Charlottesville. He says: “For every photographer out there, there
are ten people who appreciate the photograph.You don’t have to have
any membership to come to this.You just have to show up and have
a great time.”

1968 American Folk Blues Festival once more
Hans Odelholm from Örebro was kind enough to let me publish his
signed poster(!) from this great edition of The American Folk Blues
Festival. It makes me remember that T-Bone Walker was there
as well along with other great blues artists. This is from the concert
in Gothenburg. Next evening they played at the Tivoli Concert hall
in Copenhagen. Well, and Jimmy Reed was there too.

Magic Slim, Johnny Rawls, Ian Siegal, Deborah Coleman
Magic Slim has been active on the Chicago Blues scene since mid 50s.
There are not many great bluesartists left from that era. Fortunately
you can see him live in Gothenburg tomorrow night (6th of April) and
in Stockholm 17th of April. Go and see him if you can. You wont regret it.
Johnny Rawls is one of those great but underrated blues/soul artists
from USA. He is a great and very professional singer as well as guitarist.
The picture was taken in small place in Motala where he was playing for an
audience of about twenty people.
Ian Siegal is an amazing young artist (well he was born 1971) from UK.
He has been influenced by artists like Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters,
Tom Waits and Sam Cooke. On the picture he was playing solo on his old
rusty accustic guitar from 1929. He is gonna be a big name in
music...believe me.
This picture was taken at the same night as the Ian Siegal one, last
weekend in Linköping. Deborah Coleman will be back for a tour in Sweden
late April/beginning of May. If you like soulful modern blues sung with a
deep voice and a skilled guitarist...dont miss her.

Outlook - Christopher M Perez
There is a way that light appears to illuminate a subject from within
when printing to hand coated Palladium. And there are ways to manipulate
one's tools to create something that the mind "sees". When combined,
every now and then, an artist is fortunate enough to realize something
uniquely beautiful.

The Printer
There has been some fuzz about printers and stuff lately on
The F Blog. Well, brothers and sisters; this is what Mr Urbano
thinks of when hearing the word "printer". The picture is part
of a collection at the NYPL ( New York Public Library) containing
617 silver gelatin prints by the great photographer Lewis W. Hines
(1874-1940).
The picture is called "The old printer" and is dated 1905.
